Dan Miller

Dan Miller was native to Clifton in his early childhood years, but did his schooling in Vernon, NJ, and graduated from Vernon Township High School in 2001. He was always athletic, playing baseball, football, ice hockey, full contact hide-and-seek, etc. with his friends every day.

Dan moved to Florida in 2003 seeking a lifestyle change. After 4 years of beach volleyball, sunburn and a small list of accomplishments, he returned to NJ in 2007 and modeled for Abercrombie & Fitch and Gap for a while before catching interest in CKO Kickboxing. He taught classes in Wallington and took over the Clifton location shortly after.

In August 2009, Dan broke his skull and spine in a life-threatening swimming pool accident. He was in a neckbrace and backbrace for 6 months healing from the injury along with other minor setbacks.

After a near-full recovery, Dan is back in the best shape of his life and even back in his karate classes, which he enjoys in his off-time. He recenty passed the test to earn his blue belt in Shorin-Ryu karate in March 2010.

Dan teaches a high-energy, fast paced class and takes pride in his ability of explaining things in a way that can’t be mistaken, ensuring everyone gets the same great workout. Along with karate and kickboxing technique, he also includes influences of weightlifting, yoga, and his sense of humor into his workouts so you won’t hate him for exhausting you. Dan teaches class nearly every day and is available for personal training at dan@clubkogyms.com
